Crit'Air Sticker for Multiple Vehicles - UK Guide 2026

Updated 29 March 2026

Every vehicle that will be driven in a French ZFE zone needs its own Crit’Air sticker. Stickers are tied to the vehicle’s registration number and cannot be shared or transferred. If your household has two cars and both might go to France, you need two stickers.

One sticker per vehicle

Each Crit’Air sticker is:

  • Printed with the vehicle’s specific registration number
  • Linked to that vehicle in the French government database
  • Applied to that vehicle’s windscreen
  • Valid for the lifetime of that vehicle

You cannot peel a sticker off one car and put it on another. You cannot carry a sticker in your wallet and display it on whichever car you are driving that day. Each vehicle needs its own.

Applying for multiple vehicles

Through our service, apply for each vehicle separately:

  1. Enter the first vehicle’s registration number
  2. Complete the application and payment
  3. Repeat for the next vehicle

Each application takes a few minutes. You receive a separate digital certificate for each vehicle immediately.

Common scenarios

Family with two cars

If both cars might be taken to France — even if you usually only take one — apply for both. The sticker is valid for life and costs a few pounds. If you take the “other” car on a last-minute trip, you are already covered.

Motorhome plus car

If you tow a car behind your motorhome (A-frame or trailer), both the motorhome and the car need stickers if both will be driven independently in ZFE zones. If the car stays on the trailer and is never driven independently in a ZFE zone, only the motorhome needs a sticker.

Changing cars

If you sell your car or trade it in, the sticker stays with the old car. You need a new sticker for your new vehicle. The old sticker is not refundable — it belongs to the vehicle, not the owner.

Company fleet

If your business has multiple vehicles that travel to France, each needs its own sticker. See our company car guide for fleet management tips.
